Zeko's Mediterranean Grill

"There's never a wrong time for a gyro."

During this unprecedented time, it has been increasingly difficult to incorporate the restaurants I wished to provide everyone with beforehand. However, by adjusting to the changing circumstances and somewhat shifting economy, I discovered many drive-thru options that have satisfied my hunger for a relatively low price. With that being said, I have purchased many meals from Zeko’s Mediterranean Grill within the past couple weeks and continue going back for more. I quickly began to notice that each time of attendance had created an extremely pleasant experience. Zeko’s is based out of Florida and operates in five different cities around the bay area. Their establishment differentiates themselves from others by offering a Mediterranean flare with unique flavors and a large menu to select from. Zeko’s prides itself on delivering good quality, fresh food to the consumer which is cooked to order at the time of arrival.

However, Zeko’s drive-thru is not one that is meant to be used when an individual is in a rush. Since the food purchased is cooked to order, part of the experience includes waiting for the steaming bag of goods to get walked out to a persons’ car window. Although there is a short wait, it is guaranteed that the food delivered by the staff is always freshly made and still hot by the time a person drives back home. Not only does Zeko’s ensure that the food is fresh, but their restaurant also stays open until the late hours of the night. Their long hours allow them to cater to the needs of any individual with a strong craving for a gyro or any other menu item. Zeko’s is open until 4am, and each morning upon re-opening, the staff utilizes their time efficiently to prepare the new ingredients of raw meat prior to cooking later that day.

In addition to always using new, readily available ingredients, Zeko’s offers a wide variety of food that ranges from chicken, lamb and seafood to vegetarian alternatives. Zeko’s menu incorporates unique sides, such as fried mushrooms and a “chop chop” salad. Not to mention, Zeko's makes homemade hummus and fresh pita bread daily. I have tried many menu items, and each choice is packed with flavor and tastes delicious. All of the items on the menu are well-thought out, and even the commonalities, such as fries, look and taste different from any other location. Personally, I believe Zeko’s meat tastes fresher and better than any other fast-food or quick service restaurant in the Tampa bay area. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that has the time to have a full Zeko’s drive-thru experience and enjoys Mediterranean food. As things revert to normal overtime, I would suggest eating outside on their patio as well. Overall, Zeko’s customer service is exceptional, and the quality of their food is unmatched at any hour of the day.
